Somatic psychology is a therapeutic approach that emphasises the connection between the mind and body in understanding and healing psychological distress.
It views the body as a vital source of wisdom and insight, where memories, trauma, and emotional experiences are stored and can influence mental health. At our retreat, somatic psychology focuses on helping you reconnect with your body’s innate wisdom, allowing you to process and release stored emotions, heal from trauma, and restore balance. Techniques include Trauma Sensitive Yoga, breathwork and nature-based mindfulness practices.

Engaging in regular, intentional physical activity is linked to improved mood, enhanced cognitive function, and reduced stress. Our retreat includes movement-based interventions such as yoga, guided walks, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and functional fitness to activate the body’s natural stress-recovery mechanisms and promote neurobiological health.

Evan’s approach is inspired by his time at Thich Nhat Hanh’s Plum Village, where he learned to embody mindfulness, presence, and the art of "being in the now." He brings these principles to every retreat, encouraging participants to reconnect with themselves and the natural world.
